Motif Interiors launches "Motif Green" and showcases the Boardroom of the Future at the Workspace Exhibition

Motif Interiors, an industry leader in workplace and commercial fit-out solutions, showcased its "Boardroom of the Future" at the Workspace Exhibition, hosted by dmg events at the Dubai World Trade Center on June 4th - 6th. Alongside this showcase, Motif Interiors was excited to announce the launch of "Motif Green," a new initiative dedicated to enhancing the company's environmental impact across its projects.

Rita Estephan, chief operating officer at Motif Interiors, discussed this new venture, "Launching Motif Green aligns with our ongoing efforts to implement sustainable practices in our projects. It reflects our commitment to integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into our operations."

A new division, Motif Green, will focus exclusively on sustainable and LEED-certified projects and will invest heavily in the development of new processes and the sourcing of new materials. “In order to develop this division, we will continue to collaborate with designers and specialists. Having started a UAE homegrown fit-out company, we are committed to contributing to the UAE Vision 2030 announced by H. H. Sheikh Mohammed,” added Estephan.

The "Boardroom of the Future" exemplified a combination of sustainable design and advanced technology, covering 775 square feet. The meeting space utilised eco-friendly materials like reclaimed wood and recycled metal, complemented by modern technologies such as interactive touchscreens and adaptive smart lighting.

Apoorv Sharma, lead designer at Motif Interiors, explained the design approach. "Our aim with the Boardroom of the Future was to create a space where technology and sustainability meet. By integrating natural materials with interactive technology, we've designed a boardroom that is both functional and mindful of the environmental impact," said Sharma.

“We’ve incorporated reclaimed wooden logs, terra cotta tiles, bamboo, rattan, natural stone tiles, acoustic PET panels, and recycled wood logs, blending timeless elegance with eco-conscious practices, and creating a harmonious space that respects both tradition and the environment. Each material choice reflects our commitment to minimising environmental impact while celebrating craftsmanship and natural beauty.”

The Motif Interiors stand at the Workspace Summit also functions as an open meeting and interview area for exhibitors and panelists, providing a versatile space for interaction and collaboration during the event.

Key Design Features:

Adding a unique touch to the exhibit, Motif Interiors introduced a special feature for networking—a stylish bar counter complete with an on-site barista. This addition was designed to facilitate informal discussions and networking among attendees while they enjoy professionally crafted beverages.

The extensive use of sustainable materials such as reclaimed wood, bamboo, rattan, and recycled metal not only underscores Motif's commitment to environmental responsibility but also adds a warm, inviting aesthetic to the space. The design incorporated open spaces with large, organic curves, creating a fluid and dynamic environment that encourages movement and interaction.

The large overhanging elements made of bamboo mesh enhanced the vertical space, drawing the eye upward and making the area feel expansive. State-of-the-art technology was seamlessly integrated into the architectural elements. Interactive touchscreens and advanced video conferencing systems were subtly incorporated, maintaining the sleek look while ensuring functionality.

From stylish bar stools at the high tables to the circular bench seating, the furniture was designed for versatility, catering to casual drop-ins as well as formal meetings. Moreover, Motif Interiors has recently joined the DMCC Sustainability Hub as the founding member and the exclusive fit-out contractor. This role underscores the company's ongoing efforts to promote sustainable workspace solutions. "Being invited to the DMCC Sustainability Hub recognizes our dedication to sustainability in the fit-out industry. It's a privilege to lead in this area," Estephan concluded.
